Game drives

The rolling grasslands and semi-deciduous forests of the Waterberg region are home to over 50 mammal species, 300 bird species, and 2,000 plant species. You have the perfect opportunity to spot Africa’s renowned Big 5, as well as the world’s largest concentration of highly endangered white rhino on private land. Our exceptional rangers will also help you track cheetah, giraffe, hippo, brown hyena, large herds of zebra and antelope, and even the fascinating Little 5.

While the exact duration depends on the dynamic nature of wildlife sightings, our game drives are carefully paced to provide a comprehensive and unhurried safari experience. Each drive encompasses a substantial portion of the morning or late afternoon, allowing ample time for tracking animals, learning about the flora and fauna, and enjoying scenic stops for refreshments in the heart of the bush.

Game drives take place twice daily during the cooler hours when wildlife is most active. The morning drive departs early, before breakfast, and includes a stop at a pleasant spot for hot beverages, baked goods, and occasionally pancakes served directly from the vehicle. The afternoon drive departs after tea and stretches into the early evening, concluding atop a mountain ridge or scenic viewpoint. Here, you can toast the African sunset with classic sundowner drinks, traditional snacks like biltong, or experience an elevated champagne service in the bush.
