1. Introduction and Scope

These Booking Terms & Conditions apply to reservations made directly with Mhondoro Safari Lodge and Villa (trading name of Fivefold Trading 3) for the Main Lodge and the Villa, using our published rack rates as shown on mhondoro.com. In this document, “we”, “us”, and “our” refer to Mhondoro Safari Lodge and Villa.

Separate trade terms and preferred rates apply to bookings made through travel agents and tour operators; those are governed by our trade rate agreement and are not covered by this document.

2. Rates and Payment Currency

  • Rates are quoted in South African Rand (ZAR), inclusive of applicable VAT.
  • Rates are per person per night sharing, except the two-bedroom suites (Family Deluxe, Family Pool, Executive), which are priced at a flat rate per unit, and the exclusive-use Villa, which is priced per stay for 1–4 guests.
  • Tariffs may change in the event of any change in VAT, levies, or taxes, or on devaluation of the Rand.
  • Current rates are published on mhondoro.com and are confirmed at the time of booking. Errors and omissions excepted.

3. What's Included and Excluded

Included (Main Lodge and Villa):

  • Accommodation, all meals, teas & coffees, soft drinks, local beers, hand-selected house wines and house spirits.
  • Two safari activities daily — game drives in open vehicles or guided walking safaris with a Mhondoro guide.
  • Return scheduled transfers from Mhondoro Eco Farm or Welgevonden Airstrip to the lodge.
  • Free Wi-Fi in the Main Lodge and Villa, secure parking, and VAT.

Excluded:

  • Premium brands, liquors, and reserve wines from the temperature-controlled cellar.
  • Gate / conservation levy: R500 per person per day.
  • Transfers outside 12h00–12h30 at the Eco Farm or Welgevonden Airstrip: R1 500 per vehicle.
  • Spa treatments at the dedicated spa suite.
  • Gratuities.

4. Payment Terms

  • A 50% deposit is required to confirm a reservation; 100% is required if booking within 30 days oftravel.
  • The balance is payable 30 days prior to arrival.
  • Please quote your reservation folio number and surname as the payment reference.

5. Cancellations and Amendments

  • Cancellations made more than 30 days before arrival: 25% of the total fee is payable.
  • Cancellations made within 30 days of arrival: 50% of the total fee is payable.
  • Cancellations made within 15 days of arrival: 100% of the total fee is payable.
  • Guaranteed reservations are held for the first night only; unclaimed reservations are then released and a cancellation fee is charged.

6. Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend that all guests take out fully comprehensive travel insurance, including Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) cover, protecting against cancellations made less than 45 days prior to arrival.

7. Minimum Stay

A minimum stay requirement may apply during the December–January peak season. Current minimum-stay requirements are confirmed at the time of booking.

8. Child Policy

  • Children under 6 are not accommodated on scheduled game drives shared with other guests. A private “Bumble” drive can be arranged for families with young children at R900 per drive, subject to vehicle and ranger availability.
  • Children are accommodated only in the two-bedroom suites (flat-rate); separate child pricing applies only once maximum occupancy is reached. Please enquire at res@mhondoro.com.

9. Single Supplement

A single supplement of 50% of the per-person-sharing rate applies to guests travelling alone in the Luxury Pool Suite or Honeymoon Suite.

10. Seasonal Offer — May and June

A “Pay 3, Stay 4” offer applies to stays at the Lodge and the Villa during May and June. This offer excludes exclusive-use Villa rates and cannot be combined with any other offer.

11. The Villa — Exclusive Use

The Villa is booked on an exclusive-use basis for 1–4 guests, with a surcharge applying for additional adults and children beyond that number. Exclusive-use Villa rates and current surcharges are available on request from res@mhondoro.com.

12. Transfers

We offer private transfers from OR Tambo International Airport to our reception at the Mhondoro Eco Farm and back. A one-way transfer for 1–6 persons is R7 150, including up to 6 pieces of luggage (soft bags preferred). Transfers from elsewhere in Johannesburg or Pretoria are quoted on request.

13. Governing Law

These Booking Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
