Botswana Overland Safari
A real Botswana overland journey, hosted with Mhondoro care
This is Southern Africa beyond the lodge fence. The route moves through some of Botswana’s most rewarding wilderness areas, from Maun and the Okavango Delta to Moremi, Khwai, Savuti and Kasane, with the option to extend to Victoria Falls. For guests who want a longer journey, the Pans & Delta route adds Kubu Island, the Makgadikgadi salt pans, Ntwetwe Pan and Nxai Pan before continuing into the Delta and northern reserves. It is adventurous, but not unsupported. The Mhondoro team handles the vehicle, guiding, camp set-up, cooking and logistics. Guests arrive into the wild without having to manage the mechanics of the journey.

Day 1
Arrive in Maun
Duration:
Landmarks:
- Guests arrive in Maun, where the Mhondoro guides collect them from the airport in a custom-built safari vehicle.
- After lunch and drinks in Maun, the first night is spent near Maun at a comfortable campsite with restaurant facilities, bar and swimming pool.

Day 2
Scenic flight over the Okavango Delta

- The day begins with an early scenic flight over the Okavango Delta.
- After the flight, the journey continues towards Moremi, with scenic driving and game viewing along the way.
Day 3 - 4
Moremi National Park
Duration:
Landmarks:
- Three nights are spent camping in Moremi, one of Botswana’s most respected wildlife areas.
- Days include guided game drives, birding, a scenic boat experience and a mokoro excursion, depending on water levels, timing and route conditions.
Day 5 - 6
Khwai Magotho Reserve
Duration:
Landmarks:
- The route continues to Khwai, known for excellent game viewing and spacious campsites.
- Expect daily game drives with expert guides, time in camp and the feeling of being fully inside the landscape.
Day 7 - 8
Savuti National Park

Landmarks:
- Savuti is wild, remote and well known for lion activity.
- Guests travel through deep sand and reserve roads to camp, with guided game drives and long, atmospheric evenings in the bush.
Final Night
Kasane / Chobe
Duration:
Landmarks:
- The journey ends in Kasane with a hotel stay and a sunset river cruise.
- Guests may fly out from Kasane or add two or three nights at Victoria Falls.
