When on a bush walk, no one knows what you might encounter or experience. These walks are about getting in tune with nature and your surroundings. It’s not always about the big things, but also about the small signs left behind by nature.
Summer Sightings: Corn Crickets and Dung Beetles
Now that it’s summer, we often see large Corn Crickets moving around at night, while they take cover and remain burrowed in their holes during the day. In the picture below, you can see the exoskeleton of a Corn Cricket and a Dung Beetle on top of elephant dung. This was regurgitated by a Black Backed Jackal, unable to digest the hard exoskeleton. Who would have guessed?!
